HPP Logo
The annual HIPAA training has been developed to reflect current best practices, including sections focused on research and use cases involving Protected Health Information at the University of Arizona.

Faculty, staff, designated campus colleagues, and students who regularly engage with health information or support teams or systems that interact with health information, are required to take the HIPAA Certification annually. Other individuals who may be interested in learning about HIPAA can also register for course.

  1. Go to the HIPAA Certification page on EDGE and login with your UA NetID and password.
  2. Select "Register" and "Complete Registration".
  3. Select "Launch" and complete the training by viewing 100% of the module and answering the knowledge check questions throughout the course.

If you are required to take the HIPAA training but would like to request an exception based on your individual circumstance, you can complete this form. University Privacy will review your request and respond promptly.
